Without hesitation, he left for Abkhazia in order to protect it from the Georgian invaders. Efkan was one in the first group who leave Turkey to defend the homeland. He took part in the clashes between August and November and showed great heroism. Efkan died on November 3, 1992 in the Shrom operation. Efkan was 22 years old.
