There are many significant dates in the history of the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia. October 6, 1992 occupies an important place among these dates.
It was this day, the day of the liberation of the city of Gagra and the Gagra region from the Georgian invaders, that became one of the important days in the liberation of our homeland from the Georgian invaders. The victory won in the offensive and liberation of the city of Gagra raised and doubled the spirit of our people, the spirit of the Abkhazian army. Along with the military importance, the liberation of the city of Gagra was also of moral and political importance. Circumstance dictated the immediate solution of important issues.
The offensive of the Abkhaz troops, which began on October 1, ended on October 6. Thanks to the unity and heroism of our troops, victory was won. Volunteers from the North Caucasus, Russia and representatives of the Abkhazian diaspora also took part in the offensive, the purpose of which was the liberation of the city of Gagra. On these holidays, we express our deep gratitude to our war heroes, defenders of the motherland. We express our gratitude to mothers and fathers, who have a difficult experience, who have shown great patience.
