On the initiative of Russia on July 27, 1993. The tripartite Sochi agreement was signed, providing for the withdrawal of Georgian troops from Abkhazia. However, Georgia ignored this agreement. Taking into account the new circumstances, the General Staff of Abkhazia developed an operation to liberate Sukhum and defeat the enemy troops. September 16, 1993 The armed forces of Abkhazia went on the offensive. The troops of the Gumista Front broke through the enemy's defenses in depth and surrounded the Sukhum group. On September 27, Sukhum, the capital of Abkhazia, was liberated. The 12,000th enemy grouping was defeated. Dear brothers and sisters!
