Traditionally, the country's leadership, representatives of the public, schoolchildren, students and repatriates gather at the Memorial to the victims of the Caucasian War on the Sukhum embankment to pay tribute to the memory of the thousands of Abkhaz who died during these tragic events and those who were forced to leave their homeland forever. As part of the memorial events, torchlight processions, including equestrian ones, are held, with the burning of ritual bonfires and candles. This year, on May 21, the State Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia for Repatriation, together with the World Abaza Congress, organized commemorative events on the Mahajirs embankment. The leadership of the state committee of repatrıatıon expresses gratitude for the assistance in holding the event to the public organization "Avangard", the union of students of the ASU, the department for youth and sports of the Administration of Sukhum, the state committee for youth and sports and the Public Organization - "Young Guard of Abkhazia"
