DUE TO LONG TURNS TO ABKHAZIA FROM RUSSIA THE BORDER PASSAGE POINTS WILL BE EXPANDED IN THE NEAR FUTURE

More than 50 thousand people and 10 thousand cars cross the Russian-Abkhaz border every day. Due to the influx of tourists, there are congestion and queues. Mayor of Sochi Alexey Kopaygorodsky spoke about this on July 20.

According to him, in the near future a new traffic schedule will operate at the checkpoints, taking into account the peak loads during the border crossing by tourist buses. This will help solve the problem of queues at pedestrian and car points.

In addition, the pedestrian and car checkpoints are planned to be reconstructed to expand their technical capabilities. The modernization project is directed to the State Expertise.
