The modern state flag of the Republic of Abkhazia was approved at a meeting of the session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Abkhazia on July 23, 1992 in Sukhum, after the decision was made to terminate the 1978 Constitution of the Abkhaz ASSR and restore the 1925 Constitution of the Abkhaz SSR. The author of the flag is the artist Valery Gamgiya.

In less than a week, Muslims will begin to celebrate one of the main Islamic holidays - Eid al-Adha. In Abkhazia, the holiday has its own national name - Kurbanykhua. The holiday embodies the highest spiritual values and qualities inherent in true Muslims.
In support of the project launched by the Federation of Abkhaz Cultural Centers of Turkey, related to the upcoming Abkhaz Flag Day, the State Committee for Repatriation intends to create a photo album with you.
